Loch Down Early Public Demo
After a long time spent chipping away at this, I finally have updated the Loch Down project with some major design and mechanics changes. My intent is to take this through to a fully fledged commercial game, though it will take some time and some tweaking to get there.
A lot of the major changes are general overhauls to my old gamejam build. The focus now is on verticality rather than trying to create a second depth layer, the units now actively use physics properly, weapons have knockback and different ammo types, and (eventually) certain story stages will have objectives. That latter one is for later though.
I plan to add some lore through the campaign cutscenes and the boot menu content, but for now I've left in a preview of how those would appear. Gotta save some stuff for the full release.
If anyone is interested in watching the development as it unfolds, I'll be trying to post regular updates on my Twitter and Patreon, in case anyone wants to keep up to date with progress. I'll still continue to tweak the demo so people can see any polished changes, but otherwise, it's back to the devtank I go!
